The prey base comprises of a strong population of herbivores like gaur, sambar, cheetal, nilgai, and barking deer. The Tadoba Lake is also home to a large number of Marsh Crocodile. What makes a visit to Tadoba very special is the exhaustive bird-list that includes many migrants in addition to the residents. The large number of water bodies and grasslands especially and are among the best birding areas.
