Back from the archives, a beautiful juvenile “Bay backed Shrike (Lanius vittatus)”, from Theni outskirts, Tamilnadu. This bird has been eluding me all the way from the very beginning. Whenever I approach it, it just flies away to a safe distance and perch. It always sits at eye level, but I couldn’t manage to get a good profile shot as I shoot with 300mm f4L lens. The range isn’t enough to cover him all the time. This juvenile one didn’t bother about my presence and posed for a sometime, even though the background is not that good, I still like this images, because this is the only ‘OK’ image I have of him. 😅
