Yummy winged termites for evening snack. This is a gorgeous “Shikra (Accipiter badius)”, that I encountered about 4 years back. Here you can see the Shikra was feeding on some winged termites that were just emerged from the ground after a good rainfall. It was from Theni outskirts, during December 2016. The whole area was filled with winged termites and the birds were having some amazing feeding time. Shikra too joined the party and he was full on with the termites and didn’t bother me getting near to him. Little by little, I moved closer and sat down on the ground and made some beautiful frames. 😊
